Terms of service

Using ClipStep

These terms govern your use of the ClipStep website and browser extension. By using the service, you agree to these terms and the Privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be legally able to enter this agreement, and authorized to act for any organization whose content you record.

Your account and content

Keep your sign-in email and account secure. You are responsible for recordings made through your account and for reviewing them before sharing. Only capture content you have permission to record and disclose, including any personal information belonging to others.

You retain ownership of your content. You give ClipStep permission to store, process and display it as needed to provide the features you choose, including sharing links, embeds and optional AI rewriting. This permission does not transfer ownership to ClipStep.

Acceptable use

  • Do not record or publish confidential, personal or copyrighted material without the necessary rights and permissions.
  • Do not use the service for unlawful activity, fraud, harassment, malware or infringement.
  • Do not probe other users' accounts, bypass access controls or abuse the service's resources.
  • Do not rely on automatic redaction to protect secrets. Review screenshots, captions and page addresses yourself.

Plans, trials and payments

Available features, limits and prices are shown on the Pricing page and at checkout. The Pro trial does not require a payment card and does not automatically create a paid subscription. At the end of the trial, Free limits apply unless you subscribe.

If you subscribe, Stripe processes payment and your subscription renews on the interval shown at checkout until canceled. Use Account settings to open the billing portal and cancel. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the paid period. Deleting your account requires canceling any continuing subscription first. Mandatory consumer rights, including any legally required refund rights, remain unaffected.

Sharing, AI and exports

Unlisted means anyone with the link can access the tutorial; it does not mean confidential. Recipients may copy or redistribute shared content. Image addresses and cached or downloaded copies may remain accessible even if the tutorial becomes private or is deleted.

AI-generated captions can be inaccurate. Review them before use. Browser-rendered video exports depend on your device and browser, and may fail for large recordings. Keep copies of important work; ClipStep is not a backup service.

Availability and responsibility

The service is provided as available, without a promise of uninterrupted operation, perfect redaction or suitability for a particular purpose. Features may change or become unavailable. To the extent permitted by applicable law, ClipStep is not responsible for indirect losses or losses caused by content you choose to record or disclose. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or rights that cannot legally be excluded.

Access may be restricted for misuse or security reasons. You can stop using the service, remove the extension and delete your account at any time. Copies already shared with others cannot be recalled by deleting an account.

Changes

We may revise these terms as the service evolves. The current terms are available on this page. Review them before continuing to use new or changed features.

Contact and account controls

You can manage billing or delete your account and recordings in Account settings.

Direct support is not available on this preview deployment. Account deletion and billing controls remain available when you sign in to a configured account.
